Pawlenty: Palin's resignation another question mark for GOP

Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty just appeared on Fox News, where he was asked about Sarah Palin's decision to resign.

After marching through some polite diplomacy ("take her at face value"), he eventually delivers a newsworthy bite.

BRIAN SULLIVAN: It's [her resignation] lobbing up a softball, though, for attacks against the GOP. What does it mean for the Republican party?

TIM PAWLENTY: Well, I think Governor Palin's going to continue to be a strong voice and leader for the Republican party, not only in her home state, but in the party across the country.

But it's another question mark for a party that's clearly in a rebuilding year.

If we were a sports team, if I were a manager or coach sittin' here, I'd say we've gotta get some new draft picks. We have to make some trades, do some things differently, because we're clearly in a rebuilding process.
