That's what GOP strategist and former McCain campaign manager, Steve Schmidt, says the party would experience with Sarah Palin at the top of 2012's ticket.
On two related notes, Schmidt acknowledges his tension with Palin during the 2008 campaign may have earned him the distinction of "anti-rogue", and he's been front, center, left, and right of nearly every story involving schisms in the '08 campaign.
But back in April, he offered a candid assessment of Palin, telling Hugh Hewitt she'd been treated unfairly by the media during the campaign, but not by Katie Couric.
.... in my view, there was nothing that Katie Couric asked in that interview that was unfair to Governor Palin. It was not a good interview from the perspective of the McCain campaign, but there were no questions that were asked that were gotcha questions or where unfair questions. It was a devastating interview for Governor Palin when you look back on it.
Near the end of the i/view, Schmidt called Mitt Romney the front-runner for 2012, which could be coincidental tinder.
