Poizner's "10-10-10" plan

I just got off a blogger conference call with CA gubernatorial candidate, Steve Poizner, who announced his "10-10-10" plan (slides on the plan here).

The goal is to cut the state sales tax, corporation tax, and personal income tax by 10% (the first 10 in the slogan).

The second aim is to cut spending by 10% during the first two years of his hypothetical term (the second 10 in the slogan)

The third goal is to create a $10 billion Rainy Day Fund by the end of his term (the third 10).

As a relevant aside, Ed Morrissey i/viewed Poizner at Western CPAC over the weekend and seemed impressed.

Read his take and watch the vid here.

UPDATE: Meg Whitman spokesman, Tucker Bounds, fires back.

“That’s a convenient shift from Commissioner Poizner’s previous ‘6-9-3 Plan’; which included supporting higher taxes 6 different times in just 9 years while proposing to grow government spending at the Department Of Insurance for 3 consecutive years in a row. Poizner isn’t the solution, he’s part of the problem in Sacramento.”
