If you're a 2012 candidate, there are all sorts of tertiary reasons to come to Iowa: book tours, prima facie policy speeches, etc.,
But Mike Huckabee has another way to play coy while booking his tickets.
Carol Hunter:
Iowans can expect to see him here again a lot in the next year, he said, to campaign for his chief Iowa caucuses adviser, Bob Vander Plaats, in the governor’s race — a remark that drew a round of applause from the book-clutching crowd.
“I think he will be a great governor,” Huckabee said.
Vander Plaats spent much of the evening at the front door of the Borders bookstore, greeting customers and shaking hands.
