Last week's ad made it seem a foregone conclusion, but this morning, the powerful conservative grassroots organization, Club for Growth, announced it will be backing Marco Rubio's primary challenge to Charlie Crist.
"Marco Rubio is the real deal, one of the brightest young stars in American politics today, and a proven champion of economic liberty. He is a dynamic spokesman for the principles of limited government and economic freedom, and he will make a fantastic Senator."
The group gives a nod to electability concerns, claiming it's studied the race for "months", and concluded Rubio and Crist would both beat likely Democratic nominee, Kendrick Meek, in a general election.
