Huck inserts race into clemency case

On Joe Scarborough's show, Mike Huckabee excoriates the media for leveling so much attention on his political prospects, rather than the families of the slain officers.

“It really does show how sick our society has become that people are more concerned about a campaign three years from now than those grieving families in Washington.”

More interestingly (and probably, accurately), Huck introduces race into the discussion.

“If he were a white kid from an upper middle class family he would have gotten a lawyer and some counseling. But because he was a young black kid he got 108 years.”

Good point. It will be fascinating to see how conservatives and liberals approach those two sentences.
