Mike Pence is the No. 3 House GOP leader, and Thomson, Illinois is home to the correctional center which will now be home to about 100 terror suspects from Gitmo.
Pence's soundbite:
"The Obama administration is putting international public relations ahead of public safety."
In case you're new to Pence, apparently he's a hit among Iowa tea partiers, picked up good buzz on a SC visit earlier this year, and does a good W. Bush impression.
Some question which executive position he's pining for -- Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is termed out in 2012, and the state's party secretary says it would "be impossible for someone to seriously challenge" Pence if he ran for Governor.
