From Laura Vecsey's preview of Rick Santorum's visit to South Carolina today.
Santorum spokesman John Brabender said Wednesday that while it is early in the process, Santorum is undertaking a very deliberate and organized exploration of key presidential primary states.
Brabender said that with former presidential candidate Mike Huckabee's announcement last week that he is likely not to run in 2012, conservatives across the country have started to look at Santorum.
"People say (Santorum) lost his last campaign but that's had minimal effect. People know Rick has been a pretty consistent and passionate voice and conservatives feel there's a vacuum there,'' Brabender said.
