Prepping for 2012? DeMint starts PAC promoting conservative candidates

CQ Politics interviews South Carolina Senator Jim DeMint about his new Senate Conservatives PAC:

"[it's] designed to select a few candidates a cycle and to fund them with... independent expenditures that can help promote those principles that the candidate stands for. ... focus on Republicans who are going to stand on all three legs of the party. And that's the strong defense... limited government... and the traditional values we've always stood for."

Of note, DeMint says he's "not going to rule out" funding Republican primary opponents of GOP incumbents who've strayed from the fold.

A few, other potential 2012 candidates and their PACS:

a) Mitt Romney's Free and Strong America.

b) Mike Huckabee's HuckPAC.

c) Ron Paul's Liberty.

d) Newt Gingrich's American Solutions.
