Sanford: South Carolina should be more like Hong Kong

Referring to the Wall Street Journal and Heritage Foundation's recent economic freedom index, South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford lays out five ways to better his state's economy.

(And no, universal health care and pre-K don't make the list:)

Five Steps:

1. phase out corporate income tax and institute a 3.65% flat tax one one's individual return.

2. restructure government.

3. increase transparency in the state gov't. (make sure every bill that passes receives a recorded vote, which Sanford claims doesn't happen 90% of the time).

4. pass spending limits.

5. school choice.

Of note -- Sanford issues an utter lie in his piece:

...uneducated people can never truly be free people.
