DeMint warns: "I am just going to have to create pain"

In a new interview with evangelical World Magazine, SC Sen. Jim DeMint has a few noteworthy things to say.

1. On his role in the Senate.

"I am not going to be able to persuade my colleagues to do the right things, so I am just going to have to create pain."

2. On the intersection of religion and government.

"Dependency on government reduces dependency on God."

World also notes that in his new book, Saving Freedom, DeMint calls Barack Obama a "master of victimology".

If depency on Government means less dependency on God, then why doesn't DeMint quit his job, give away his wealth and show us what dependency on God really looks like.

DeMint is an active, outspoken Senator, who's just come out with a bestselling book. I don't see any foot tapping here.

Second, every human is unique, even Senator DeMint, who of any of us is to judge whether or not he is fulfilling his calling as a Christian by being an outspoken US Senator with a bestselling book?

I happen to like the fact that he is man enough to think, speak and act on his convictions popular or not...

What a load.
Is he saying we shouldn't depend on government? For a military? Cops? Roads? To enforce the copyright on his book?
What a load.
After all, doesn't he depend on government for his salary and health care?
What a load.
