Media barred from Palin's Reagan Library speech

Sarah Palin's first speech after leaving the stuffy confines of her gubernatorial position will be at the Reagan Library in Simi Valley, California.

And the sponsoring club says No Press, No Media.

Governor Sarah Palin is one of several featured guest speakers, and is slated to attend. Reservations are made by invitation only, and non-refundable. There will be no press passes or media passes issued.

Is John Ziegler a member of the media?

UPDATE: The SF Chronicle's Carla Marinucci says it's not clear who barred the media -- Palin or the sponsoring club.

DOUBLE UPDATE: Don Surber's take.

I know. I should take the side of the press on this one. But I cannot in all god [sic] conscience do so. On Sunday, her resignation as governor is official and she becomes a civilian again.

If she wants to give a speech that is closed to the press, so be it.

My college roomie belongs to that club. It's private and they never allow press--not does she recall any press ever asking to attend before.
