RGA, meet your new vice-chair

According to Jonathan Martin, the Republican Governors Association (RGA) is naming Tim Pawlenty vice-chair, today.

Pawlenty can use the RGA perch to develop relationships with governors, candidates, donors and party activists. Advisers to Pawlenty indicate he’ll also eventually open a political action committee, the traditional favor-dispensing outlet used by White House prospects.

One more perk: If Haley Barbour has an affair, T-Paw takes his place.
