State Sen. pushes hearings on Sanford

South Carolina state Sen. David Thomas (R) says the State Law Enforcement Division's review of whether Mark Sanford used state money on his affair with Maria Belen Chapur is insufficient, and that hearings on the matter are necessary.

Greenville Online:

.... his [Thomas'] Senate finance subcommittee on constitutional officers will look at Sanford's trips, his spending and the occasions in which he asked security not to follow him.

.... Joel Sawyer, Sanford's spokesman, said the issue has already been examined by the State Law Enforcement Division.... [but] Sawyer said the governor and his staff would be cooperative with Thomas' committee.
