Bring it on: Daniels attacks teacher unions

Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels is not in a peace-making mood as budget negotiations begin.

He poked fun, for instance, at other governors who are "wringing their hands and begging with their tin cups." He labeled as "backwards" suggestions that the legislature will be too occupied with the budget to deal with government streamlining proposals. And, in a year when the powerful teachers union will fight for education spending, he said schools should be "a learning center for children, not an employment bureau for adults."
