Charlie Crist's 2009 year-in-review

The Palm Beach Post offers a timeline of critical events in Florida Gov. Charlie Crist's second year in office.

Among them, some Good:

Sept. 6: Charles Canady replaces Raul Cantero on the Florida Supreme Court. It's the first of four appointments Crist will make to the seven-member court in the next six months.*

Dec. 10: Crist announces details of Cover Florida, his plan to offer bare-bones health coverage to 3.9 million uninsured Floridians. The plans will be available starting Monday.

Some Bad.

Nov. 13: RealtyTrac announces that 1 in 157 properties in Florida was in foreclosure in October, the highest monthly rate for the state through the first 11 months of the year.

Some Reality:

Dec. 29: Unemployment in Florida hits 7.3 percent, a 15-year high and more than double the rate when Crist was sworn into office.

*Crist's appointed strong conservatives to the court.
