Ethics questions on Crist's small business proposal

Remember that $10 million loan Florida Gov. Charlie Crist pushed for small businesses? Issues of fairness and potential corruption are creeping in.

Senate Democratic leader Al Lawson:

“There’s a lot of things in this plan that aren’t clean. It smells. And it’s beginning to smell louder across the state of Florida."

At issue is the fact that a potential vendor for the contract worked with the governor's office on crafting the legislation.

Dale Brill, the head of Crist’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development, worked closely with Steve Quello, a consultant and president of CEO Nexus, a for-profit business based in Winter Park. Quello has said he is interested in bidding on the contract.
