Claim: Pawlenty's budget will institute gangster capitalism

Ed Felien parrots Naomi Klein's "Shock Doctrine" to warn THE PEOPLE* about Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty's upcoming budget.

Tim Pawlenty is the heir apparent to the neoconservative wing of the Republican Party. If he can show that he can make the “tough decisions” and dismantle government, sell off the resources and cut taxes for the rich, then he stands a good chance of attracting huge campaign contributions from Halliburton, Bechtel and other corporations in the military-industrial complex who are looking for just such a candidate to head up the Republican ticket in 2012.....

What’s next? Private hunting lodges and condos in our state parks? The common wealth of this state was given to us by our parents and grandparents, not to be given away to some huckster in a cheap suit, but to pass on even better to our children and our children’s children.

*I have three rules in life. Besides Gore Vidal's, my third is to never vote for any politician who wears a uniform and fronts a political party with the word "people" in its name.
