Jindal's Louisiana: Light of hope in dark times

It's not much, but Louisiana is bucking the trend:

Employment rolls from December 2007 through November 2008 grew by 6,800 jobs. That is an increase of only 1 percent, but the rest of the South experienced a 0.7 percent average decrease. The nation as a whole recorded a 1.4 percent drop.

Site Selection magazine's state business climate ratings showed Louisiana ranked 22nd. This is the first time we have made the Top 25.

Even more impressive, Louisiana has made the gains, despite its outmigration of highly-skilled workers.

One more reason why job-training remains such a centerpiece of Jindal's agenda.
