Republicans wait for word on Crist's political future

First, the field appeared to clear for former Gov. Jeb Bush.

Now, deferential Republicans are waiting for word on whether current Governor Charlie Crist will run for Senate in 2010.

Rep. Connie Mack:

“Charlie Crist hasn’t ruled out that he may run for Senate. I know that he’s being courted right now to do so. So it’s way too early to make any decisions like that.”

Although it's unlikely Crist will run for Senate, we outlined three reasons why he might.
